The Freak by Matt Lesniewski

I love comics of all types, however every once in a while I come across a comic that reminds me of why I make comics, and inspires me in the type of comics I want to create. “The Freak” is one such book. After finishing reading Lesniewski’s work I found myself just sitting there in silence, with this awe induced pause. His mix of both storytelling & artistry are absolutely breathtaking. His line work draws a reader into each panel to slow down to then observe every detail and the flow of every line.

This is a story of the pain of rejection, the longing to be at peace, the beauty of shared experiences & the need to walk one’s own path. It is a breathtaking story of an individual’s plight to be free.

This is a book you will want to read, re-read and then give away to share with others. Absolutely amazing.
